Reflections
AT ebb time I wrote a few lines upon the shore..and gave them all my heart and all my soul..at tide time I returned to read what I had inscribed and found my ignorance upon the shore.."jubran khalil"

:: Today, I mourn.

A great man, who embraced me as a daughter since the day we met.

Words can not express our sorrow.

And the deep pain his death has engraved in our hearts.

Ammo Riad, the void you leave behind can not be filled.

Your voice, your laugh, your happiness to see us and the kids

walk through the door.

The anticipation with which you waited for them every day.

The joy you brought to their lives.

The way you pampered them and carried them around.

The frustration you felt when you could not take their little hands,

and walk them around the house.

I can never forget the day when I put Raya in your lap for the first time, when she was three days old. You used to be so frightened of carrying babies, but the moment you held her in you arms you never let go of her .

Neither the day of Zaido’s christening, when he wouldn’t let anyone carry him but you. Even the priest thought that jiddo saved the day.

My kids’ loss has been doubled this year, with the loss of both grandparents.

But the memories you have both given them and us are priceless.

Ammo, your legend lives on, in the great family you have raised.

No day passes by without me thinking of the great job you and auntie have done raising such a loving caring family.

I am blessed to be part of your family, to have known you, to have loved you and to have been loved by you.

May God bless your soul.

May you and my dad both rest in peace.

Our biggest blessing is having had such great men to father us.

We love you both so much.

Well i can feel and understand ur sorrow, my grandfather was such a man,a gr8 man.many ppl come and leave this short life, only very few remain remembered. i am sure ur father and father-in-law will always be remembered.some ppl are comforted by the fact that their loved ones are in a better place now, i kinda believe in that. Finally i offer my deepest sympathies and condolences to u.

Dearest Sister Salam,

Words cannot tell how bad we feel for losing Ammo Riad. He was so dear and loved by everyone.

The day of Zeid's Christening was a day to remember. He was the savior.

He is now with our dear father, his dear friend and brother. MAY GOD BLESS BOTH THEIR SOLES.

The year 2006 was such a terrible year, losing two loving people. But we believe in God, and that is God's will.

Allah Yirhamak Ammo Abu Samer.. we all miss you.

Dear Salam,
Please accept our sincere condolences. Allow me to share my thoughts with you.
Loosing a person whom you treasure like your dad Baba Abu Yousif is a shock and sorrow that cannot be endured not just by you but by many as he was a kind person. Six months later loosing another parent like Ammo Abu Samer is an awakening to your wound that has not healed yet. But this should not frustrate us but make us strong and help us to understand life and try harder to improve our relationships with our loved ones and cherish our precious moments with them. We need to build a better bond between each other. Saying that, we realise that life is too short to worry about the nitty gritty and should live every moment of it to the fullest.
I know very well how much Dad Baba George dedicated his time for each and every one of us and how much Ammo Abu Samer also did the same to his family. In the one or two times that I met ammo Abu Samer I found him different to many people and grand dads as he was pleasant and positive. In Sydney thousands of miles away from you, we realise how his loss would have impacted all of you.
May God grant you patience and hope that you do not experience such sorrow again.
RJ staff in Sydney also asked me to pass on their sincere sympathies and condolences to you and all his family.
Alfred Mansour - Sydney.
