To a stranger:
In pain,
you and I become one.
Your tears run down my cheeks,
their salt burns the edge of my mouth.
You hear me sob,
your voice echoes mine.
I see your gaze,
like a reflection in my mirror.
Death seperates,
Pain unites.
God bless them all.
Amen.

My thoughts are with you today ya Salam! Beautiful beautiful heart wrenching poetry....
Salam, thanks for this lovely written expressionof your heart.
I'm coming up on the 3rd anniversary of losing my parents, and I was thinking of you still in the rawest stages of grief. It takes longer than 40 days - I hope people will give you and your family time.
Salam, your dad's character lives on in you. Although I didn't know him, I'm thankful to him for that. I'm praying for you.
Hi Salam,
This is me your sister from Down Under.
I read it before and did not understand.
I read it again and now I understand.
Writing from the heart reaches the heart.
I keep remebering the words you said "Ila Baba" and bring back all the lovely memories that our Dad left for us. All the love that shines from his eyes. All the warmth that spreads from his hands. God bless your soul Baba. I still can't believe and don't want to believe that this has happened.
But I guess it has happened and we will have to accept God's will and comand.
I quote below from Gibran Khalil"
"You would know the secret of death. But now shall ….. shall you truly dance.
Death is not nearer to the aged than to the new born; neither is life.
Birth and death are the two noblest expressions of bravery.
When you have solved all the mysteries of life you long for death for it is blat another mystery of life.
Almitra the seeress, asks the prophet to speak of death. He said:
"You would know the secret of death."
"But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?"
"The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light."
"If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life."
"For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one."
"In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring."
"Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity."
"Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honor."
"Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?"
"Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?"
"For what
only the good one dies early
Gilgamesh in his epic which is about finding answers to some difficult questions
1- why we die?
2- what is the use of achieving and working hard if in the end we die?
during Gilgamesh journey and his struggle and urgements with his God.
This Great King from ancient Iraq found out that there is no way out and we all must die as we are humans as we are mortal and only gods are immortal.
we can only work hard to serve and help our fellow human
and we have good time and we live every moment of our lives with our family with wife and kids
only our great memories for what have we achieve will be remembered for ever.
Salam I am proud that dad has worked so hard for mankind and his family.
Dad worked so hard and faithfully for his country and Jordanians without any discrimination of faith or color or background
You and I know very well that he played a big role in helping the disadavantaged and the poor
for Dad is Gilgamesh the great king of Uruk who spent all his life to serve the other.
To me a Saint has departed this life to start another role in heaven.
May God rest his sole in peace and grant him a seat close to him ...
