Reflections
AT ebb time I wrote a few lines upon the shore..and gave them all my heart and all my soul..at tide time I returned to read what I had inscribed and found my ignorance upon the shore.."jubran khalil"

:: 45 minutes later..

 I don't know whether I should be pleased or upset . I waited outside the english teachers classroom for 45 minutes for my turn to see her in the Parent/Teacher meeting .Parents were taking so long inside. It was my turn at last, she saw me at the door and said :"Um Raya , what are you doing here?You shouldn't have come in the first place, I have nothing to tell you!" If only she saw me earlier..Yeah, I guess I'm pleased afterall!

What a twisted mentality some people have! Does it have to be something negative that the teacher needed to say? Can't she discuss with you better way to further your daughter's exceptional performance and behavior? I think most "good" teachers in Jordan can improve an average or a below-average student but rarely can they deal with an excellent student. Eventually the excellent student gets bored, misses challenges and becomes another pupil in a schooling system.

wallahi ya Jameed don't think this doesn't worry me, I even worry that my faith in her skills would make her go backwards..however, I got a wonderful tip from a specialist the other day on nbc, she said don't congratulate youyr children for being this smart, but for working hard whenever they perform well..I hope I remember this along the way!

I'm not surprised!! Raya is exceptional not just in her academics, but her sweet heart. I do hate waiting in those lines, though!
