Reflections
AT ebb time I wrote a few lines upon the shore..and gave them all my heart and all my soul..at tide time I returned to read what I had inscribed and found my ignorance upon the shore.."jubran khalil"

:: I've Realized...

 -Shawerma sandwiches are way better than plates(arabi style)..the meat soaks up the dressing and the bread isn't dry.

 -There's a clear connection between spring and testesterone...as soon as the weather warms up, no girl can cross the street without a whistle, a flying kiss, a nasty remark, or all of  the above.

- I'd rather have my children watch western music videos on TV than arabic ones..they're much more modest.....but I'd rather have them listen to arabic lyrics than english ones...especially rap.

-If  you say something nasty about someone in front of your children, they are BOUND to repeat it in front of the wrong people...and no matter how you try to polish it..it will still sound bad!

-It's much easier for you to pluck your eyebrows in a car going at 120km an hour than at 60kms/hour provided you're not driving...if you are ,odds are you might lose more than a couple of hairs...an eye, perhaps?

 -No matter how warm the week before Palm Sunday is, that specific day day will be cold and windy.

w bass!

:: Le Carnaval de Jabal Lwebdeh

It might be a bit late to post about it, since it was on the 10th of March, but it was a nice event. After weeks of preparation, the French Center was able to spread joy all over the Jabal, starting from the Paris Circle, next to the center , going up to the National Museum with a parade of people in Masks, then down again to the circle for Crepes provided by the Librairie de Paris Coffee shop. The kids were entertained with ballons and face painting provided by KIDZMANIA, sugar candy, popcorn, and loads of paint and cardboard shapes to color. Hopefully this will become an annual event, and will help revive Jabal Lwebdeh.I know I wrote about this earlier HERE, but I love that place. If you are like me, and miss Webdeh, go have dinner at Canvas, get a book and go reading in the National Museum Park, grab a few pastries from Automat and eat them on the roundabaout,buy an apple pie from Motta, or even better, take a french course and spend an hour everyday there!

Here are some pictures of the event:
